Objective : TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF EVERY INDIAN
For an agrarian economy, our farmers and our farmlands should both be considerably healthier.
Farm size is shrinking due to division of land among each successive generation. Quality of farm produce is inconsistent. Soil preservation, mechanized farming and the rise in yield they bring, are crucial.
1 Encourage farmers to club farmlands into large tranches of say 5000 acres. Then mechanized farming can raise output; the benefit of which will pass to landholders.
2 Map green zones and assign arid belts for industrial activity.
3 Map crop patterns so that crops heavy on water do not get planted in water starved areas.
4 Improve the system of distribution and sale of seeds so that “dud” seeds do not get sown.
5 Support rural cooperative bodies with professional assistance to improve their working.
6 Take Agricultural Science and Engineering Education to rural areas (like the Rahuri University) and encourage scientific farming to enhance farm throughput.
7 Modernize the maintenance of irrigation canals and implement laws to prevent their misuse.
